Welcome to The Faithful Surrender. As you’ve probably already concluded by looking through this site, The Faithful Surrender is a weekly devotional journey that aims to help others by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and encouraging all to faithfully surrender to Him.
Today’s world is loud. With all that we see and hear about going on around us, it’s important that we remember who God is. Even more important than knowing who He is, is knowing Him personally. Once that unforgettable introduction is made, we must continue to surrender to Him daily. Living a surrendered life doesn’t always come with ease, though. But, if we don’t decrease, He can’t increase, and if He can’t increase, then we face eternal separation from the one who truly loves us.
God is good. There is no greater friend that we could have. Regardless of our circumstance, we can call on Him, and He will answer. I love what Isaiah said in chapter 59 and verses 1 and 2: “Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” No matter how far away that we think we are, God’s hand can reach us, and His ear can hear us. It’s our sin that separates us from Him, but because He gave His son Jesus and because of what He did on the cross, we can start anew in Him.
I want to acknowledge that I am nobody special and I am certainly not trying to build a platform for personal promotion. I am only doing this out of obedience to Him and with hopes that I can see folks come to know and grow in Jesus Christ. I don’t know it all, I am not a theologian or a Bible scholar, but I do know the Lord and I know that He has radically changed my life. So, I am simply here to show you that He can do the same for you. I also want to show you that we don’t have to have it all together to be a follower of Christ. We don’t have to have the flashy clothes, the nice ride, the social status, or the money that we think we need in order to fit in with the church crowd before we can serve the Lord. The only thing that we need to give in order to follow Christ is ourselves. We must give Him our all. We may not be much, but we are His and He loves us. What He does for one, He can do for all. He has no respect of persons.
So what’s the plan here? The plan is to publish a weekly devotional that will encourage each of us to seek the Lord, grow closer to Him, increase our faith, and help others. It is my hope that what we do here, we can do together for God’s glory.
I encourage you to follow along, reach out and engage, and of course, surrender to Jesus.
Be on the lookout next week for the first devotional.
